Monique Nahas is an Emeritus professor who trained as a physicist. She first encountered computer programming in the 1970s and discovered that it was possible to transform algorithms into images.

She focused her attention on this field and helped set up both the ATI programme and the INRéV research team, where she has worked on facial animation with Hervé Huitric.
