Jean-Louis Boissier is emeritus professor of art at Paris 8 University; he was the founder and former head of the EdNM research Team at University Paris 8. He is also an artist and exhibition curator.

His practical and theoretical research has focused, since the early 1980s, on the implications of new digital and interactive media in contemporary art. His texts on interactivity in art are published in La Relation comme forme, Musée d’art moderne et contemporain, Geneva, 2009.
